Legal Issues in Autism: School Districts
and Parents; Perspectives from Both Sides
Nationally Well Known "Autism Attorney" Gary Mayerson will
meet head to head with Prominent "School Board Attorney" Viola
S. Lordi in this first time ever "Legal Conference" of such
magnitude. Mr. Mayerson has testified before congress on the federal
IDEA statute and is the Author of "How to Try an Autism Case,"
published in the June 2003 edition of New Jersey Lawyer's Magazine.
He also was a principal presenter at the 3rd National IDEA Hearing Officer
Training. Several Judges from New Jersey's OAL were in an attendance.
He consults internationally and has presented at numerous conferences
and Universities.
Prominent Attorney Viola S. Lordi represents school boards and provides
legal counsel on higher education law. Mrs. Lordi has been appointed
to the Editorial Board of the IDEA Compliance Insider. She continues
to serve on the Board of Advisors for the IEP Trainer. She has served
as speaker for the New Jersey Association of School Administrators,
The New Jersey Association for Affirmative Action in Higher Education,
and the New Jersey School Boards Association/ New Jersey Association
of School Attorney's on various school/ higher education law subjects.
Both Presenters at this conference have impressive resumes and their
expertise in this field can bring valuable information to all those
who attend. This is a "must see"
for parents, caregivers, school officials, teachers, professionals,
Advocates, IEP members, CST members, Attorneys, organizations, and anyone
else who has any kind of involvement in this field.
